Tulum festivals 2027: Zamna Dec 31, Day Zero Jan 9

Two dates for the 2027 season are already confirmed by the organizers: Zamna Tulum starts on December 31, 2026 and runs through January 10 (its tenth anniversary), and Day Zero lands on Saturday, January 9, 2027. The lineups are a different story — as of today, July 26, 2026, neither Zamna nor Day Zero has published a single name.

That creates a planning trap we watch happen every year from here: people wait for the lineup before committing to the trip, and by the time the lineup drops, accommodation for those dates is either gone or at peak-season pricing.

Zamna isn’t a single-weekend festival: it’s a season of near-nightly events between late December and the first days of January, each night a different showcase. Day Zero is one date, dusk to sunrise, in the jungle.

Zamna’s 2027 edition is its tenth, so it’s reasonable to expect a bigger program than usual (Nightlife México). “Reasonable to expect” is not “confirmed” — until the official lineup drops, it’s a bet.

The names: what’s known and what isn’t

No artist is confirmed for 2027. What is verifiable is who built the previous seasons, which is the best read on the caliber of what’s coming:

• Afterlife — the Tale Of Us project. Its January 2025 Tulum edition featured Tale Of Us, Anyma, Mind Against, Massano, Cassian and Chris Avantgarde (Resident Advisor).
• Keinemusik — the Berlin collective of Rampa, &ME and Adam Port, with its own night in Zamna’s 2026 season.
• ANTS, ANOTR and Mayan Warrior — showcases that also had dates that season. Mayan Warrior brought its full art car to Zamna on January 9, 2026, for the first time (official Zamna announcement).
• Day Zero is led by Damian Lazarus, who usually closes with the sunrise set.

If you’re coming for one specific artist, the only source worth trusting is the official announcement. One useful calendar note: tickets for headline events sell out by November, so buy the moment a lineup drops (Casa Nalum).

Where to stay, depending on who you’re with

Everything we run is in La Veleta, the Tulum neighborhood where the nomad community actually lives — not the beach hotel zone. The options, and who each one suits:

A warning about those rates, so nothing surprises you: these are the “from” rates published in July 2026, which reflect low season. New Year’s week and the Zamna run are the most expensive stretch of the year in Tulum, and rates for those dates sit above these. Use the table to compare options against each other, not as what you’ll pay on December 31. For that, ask about your specific dates.

If there are a lot of you

Taking a whole space changes the math: the 11 coliving units together work out to roughly $22 per person per night at published rates, with both pools, the garden and the coworking just for your group. For groups coming in for the festivals, two things we always ask upfront: whether you want the place closed off or several units is enough, and whether you’re arriving at dawn (events end at sunrise, and check-in is better agreed in advance).

Getting around at night

The events aren’t in La Veleta — you have to get there, and on the way out, between 6 and 9 in the morning, finding a taxi is the hard part of the night. What people staying with us actually do: a round trip agreed with a driver beforehand, or their own scooter for the whole stay, which also solves the beach, the cenotes and the grocery run. We rent scooters directly: rental.

What to do now, in July
