AI for working while traveling: the 2026 nomad toolkit

Artificial intelligence did for remote work what wifi did fifteen years ago: it made it possible from almost anywhere. It’s not magic, and it’s not a replacement. It’s leverage. AI doesn’t do the work for you, but it takes the hours that don’t matter off your plate —the first draft, cleaning up data, translating, summarizing a meeting— and leaves you the time for the part that does.

What AI actually solves when you work while traveling

• Writing and communication. Assistants like Claude or ChatGPT to draft, edit and reply in another language. Essential when you work with clients across three time zones and live out of a room.
• Code. If you build, coding assistants write, review and explain. A solo dev today moves like a small team did a few years ago.
• Automation. Agents that chain repetitive tasks —moving data, generating reports, answering the obvious— so you never touch them by hand.
• Meetings and research. Auto-transcription and summaries of calls, and search that brings you the answer with its source instead of ten tabs.

What matters isn’t the trendy tool, it’s building your own workflow: two or three you use every day and know well.

How we use AI at Nomad Humans

Here’s the honest part: we’re not just a coliving with fast wifi. We’re a company that builds its own AI software to run better and grow the community.

The most visible example is Gaby, our assistant that helps guests over WhatsApp around the clock: she answers questions, coordinates check-in, shares access codes and escalates to the team when a human is needed. Behind it are our own systems handling bookings, maintenance, utilities and community — a good chunk of it powered by AI. We don’t do it to replace the human touch, but so the team spends less time on the mechanical part and more with people.
